Follow the Cragshold Scone Mix directions on the bag.
For sweet scones, add ⅓ cup sugar to the dry mix before cutting in the butter. After the butter is cut in, gently stir in the add-ins listed below before adding the liquid ingredients.
Strawberry - 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries and glaze after baking if desired.
Blueberry - ¾ to 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (If frozen, do not thaw.) Juicy and familiar, with pockets of fruit throughout.
Chocolate Chip - ¾ cup chocolate chips or chunks. Rich but balanced, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon bake.
Cinnamon Sugar - 1½ tsp ground cinnamon and 2 Tbsp sugar (in addition to the ⅓ cup). Stir the cinnamon and additional sugar into the dry mix along with the base sugar before cutting in the butter. Warm and comforting, with a lightly spiced crumb.
Notes
- Use milk or buttermilk; buttermilk adds richness.
- If dough feels too wet with fruit, add 1–2 Tbsp flour when shaping.
- Glaze sweet scones only after baking, if desired.
- Handle gently — shaggy dough is correct.
